Embroidered in the 11 th century, the Bayeux tapestry is 70 metres long and depicts the conquest of England by William the Conqueror in 1066.

Originally intended to decorate the walls of the cathedral, it is now exhibited in a specially remodelled building. Filled with infinite details about clothes, buildings and battle formations, the tapestry is, for us, a fascinating comic strip on the grand scale.
