Saved by The Passion

It is hiden in the fields north of Falaise. This Cistercian abbey of women was founded early in the twelfth century and became royal abbey thereafter, was the center of a large rural estate with the surrounding landscape bears traces. After skirting a former city wall , we come to the gatehouse, reception building of the Abbey of the thirteenth century exceptionally preserved in its original structure and recently restored. The abbey was rebuilt largely in the eighteenth century, was destroyed during the French revolution with the exception of agricultural use of buildings, with for example the beautiful Tithe Barn. It remains monastic buildings, the outer wall of the cloister, elegant 1750 building which reflects the wealth of the monastery.
